Peptide Care Guide
1. Storage Before Reconstitution
-
Store all lyophilized (powdered) peptides in a cool, dark, dry place, like a drawer or cabinet away from heat and light.
-
For long-term preservation, keep vials refrigerated at 2–8°C
-
Avoid direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
Tip: Long-term storage (over several months) is best in a freezer at –20°C.
2. Reconstitution
-
Use only sterile Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) when reconstituting peptides.
-
Gently inject the water down the side of the vial, avoiding direct pressure on the powder.
-
Allow the peptide to dissolve slowly - do not shake or swirl aggressively.
-
Discard opened BAC Water after 14-21 days
Use clean syringes and alcohol pads during handling to maintain sterility.
3. After Reconstitution
- Once peptides are reconstituted, they become more sensitive to temperature, light, and contamination.
- Store all reconstituted peptides in the refrigerator (2–8°C).
-
Do not freeze after reconstitution — ice crystals can damage the peptide structure.
- Keep vials away from light and open only when necessary.
- For best results, use within 30 days of reconstitution.
- If the solution appears cloudy, discolored, or has particles, discard it immediately.
4. Handling Tips
- Always wash hands thoroughly before handling peptides.
- Work on a clean, disinfected surface in a low-dust environment.
- Wipe vial tops with an alcohol pad before and after each use.
- Use a new, sterile syringe each time — never reuse needles or BAC water.
- Avoid shaking vials; instead, gently swirl if mixing is needed.
- If a vial is accidentally contaminated or left unrefrigerated for a long period, discard it to ensure research accuracy.
